Summary: Reiki is a safe, gentle therapy that helps reduce stress and promote relaxation. During a session, you stay fully clothed while a practitioner lightly places their hands on or above your body. It works alongside medical care to help you feel balanced, calm, and emotionally refreshed in a supportive environment.
Are you a working professional who has been following a busy routine for years? But now you are feeling excessively stressed and emotionally tired. Well, you are not alone. This is common among busy professionals. The reason behind these health issues is that you carry stress in your body for a long time without realizing it. This is where Reiki healing therapy comes into play. This treatment is quite effective in reducing emotional stress and promoting relaxation.
But people often think, “Is it safe for me?” and often start living with their existing issues. But this is a huge mistake. You must know about a treatment before trying it, but delaying it can make the situation worse for your mental health.
I’m Gail Cerruti, a Usui Reiki master. In this blog, I will discuss what Reiki healing actually is, how safe it is for you, and what you must know before getting this therapy.
Let’s dive in!
What is Reiki Healing Therapy?
It is actually a gentle way to help your body relax and release stress. In this session, you will lie down comfortably and stay fully clothed. I place my hands lightly on your body or just above it. There is no pressure, no pain, and nothing forceful.
This method actually supports the natural energy in your body. When you are stressed or overwhelmed, that energy can feel stuck. My goal is to help it move again so your body can settle and feel calm.
Is It Safe for You?
Honestly, this therapy is suitable for most people. If you ignore the common myths, you can actually feel how safe this treatment is. I use a gentle and non-invasive approach. There are no tools, machines, or strong physical movements involved in this session. I do not press, stretch, or manipulate your body.
You stay fully clothed and relaxed the entire time. You will always be in control during the session. If you feel uncomfortable at any point, you can tell me right away. I will listen and adjust the session for you.
This treatment is actually helpful for individuals who:
- Feel emotionally stressed
- Experience anxiety
- Need deep relaxation
- Want a calm and supportive experience
What You Must Know Before Scheduling a Reiki Healing Therapy Session
1. Your Medical Care Remains the Same
Many people often say this therapy will change the medical routine. This is a myth. Remember, Reiki healing therapy is not a medical treatment. I do not replace your doctor or prescribed care. I use Reiki as a supportive method. It works alongside other treatments to help your body relax and respond better.
2. You May Experience Emotional Release
This treatment is highly effective for emotional release. Sometimes, when your body relaxes deeply, emotions can come up. You may feel like crying or letting go of old stress. This is normal. I create a safe space where you can feel comfortable if this happens. There is no pressure to react in any way.
3. Your Experience May Be Different Each Time
Every person experiences Reiki in their own way. You may feel warmth, tingling, deep calm, or even fall asleep. Some people feel a lot. Some feel very little. Both are okay. I will be there to help you release emotional stress and support a calm state of mind, so you feel renewed and balanced.
4. The Session Will Be Focused on Your Comfort & Safety
Before we begin, I take time to listen to your concerns and explain the process. Each session is one-on-one. This allows me to give you my full attention and care. My goal is to help you feel safe, calm, and supported from start to finish.
So, is Reiki healing therapy safe? In my experience, yes. It is a gentle and low-risk way to help your body relax and release emotional stress.
